Day 5 - Skjolden, Norway

Skjolden is a serene village nestled among mountains. You’ll arrive there via Sognefjord, the world’s longest navigable fjord, putting you at the heart of Norway’s majestic scenery. Skjolden itself actually sits within the Lusterfjord, an arm of the Sognefjord, and your arrival is truly mesmerising. Forested slopes lead down towards the still waters, summer meadows and fruit-bearing farmlands extend from their edge in patchworks of brilliant green, made so vibrant by the melt water of two glaciers. These are Nigardsbreen, which resembles a river frozen in full flow, and Jostedalbreen, the largest glacier in continental Europe.

Here is your chance to experience this unique World Heritage Site, sailing the same waters of Norse and Viking legends. This is also the opportunity to explore the many natural wonders whilst ashore. Take a walking trail at your own pace, you’re never far from a memorable sight or place of interest, or choose from a selection of boat trips that take you to the islands in the fjord’s tributaries.

Experience first-hand what's 'great' about Great Britain. Embark on a mesmerising sojourn past rolling hills and farmlands of England. Head west to Stonehenge's megaliths, whose centuries-old myths have yet to be fully revealed. The elegant Georgian architecture of Bath takes centre stage during our visit to this famous spa town. Here, you'll see the Abbey and visit the Roman Baths, before crossing the Severn Estuary to Cardiff. Delve into the proud culture and heritage of the Welsh as you embark on an orientation of the city to see the University of Wales, Principality Stadium, City Hall and the National Museum. Tonight, celebrate the beginning of an epic adventure over dinner.

Continue north through the Shropshire Hills and Cheshire landscapes to Liverpool, hometown of the Fab Four, for an opportunity to join an Optional Experience to see the sights of the city with a Local Specialist.

The enchanting views of Britain's Lake District provide a scenic backdrop for our drive north to Scotland. Skirt the romantic shores of Lake Windermere and enjoy views that inspired literary greats like William Wordsworth. Stop at the runaway wedding capital that is Gretna Green where 'Blacksmith Priests' would marry couples over the Marriage Anvil. Later, we arrive in enchanting Edinburgh - our home for the next two nights. This evening, consider attending a lively Scottish ceilidh with traditional haggis and bagpipes.

Day 15 - Discover Edinburgh's Treasures

Ramble up the Royal Mile in the mesmerising medieval city of Edinburgh, where you'll join a Local Specialist on an included city sightseeing tour. See the Old Town and view Arthur's Seat and the Palace of Holyroodhouse, for centuries the seat of the kings and queens of the Scots. Later, choose to join your Travel Director on an Optional Experience to Rosslyn Chapel, before free time for lunch and your own explorations. This afternoon you'll visit Edinburgh Castle, perched atop Castle Rock. Spend the evening your way with an Optional Experience through the Old Town with fish and chips or pay a visit to Johnnie Walker for a Scotch whisky tasting.

This evening join a family at their stately home in York for a Be My Guest experience and some hearty British home-cooked hospitality.
